The PLB103M is a great option for anyone with an LCD or Plasma television set sized within the 32 – 55” region. This well made bracket feels stable and sturdy and is invisible behind most TVs, with the added ability to tilt the angle of the screen by up to 15 degrees up and down. It’s affordable quality and compatible with a large range of different models of TV set, so is there any downside?
Well if there is it certainly doesn’t come through the ease of installation and fitting. Anyone not overly skilled in DIY projects may flinch at the idea of installing their own LCD wall bracket, especially when seeing the pieces within the box. Fortunately with this particular model there is no need to fear whatsoever. The instructions are incredibly clear and every piece required to affix the unit to your wall is included and clearly labelled. Even novices shouldn’t have too much problem, though the usual precautions with any DIY project should be adhered to – you don’t want to be drilling through a wire after all.
This LCD wall bracket is also suited to a range of different televisions, using VESA compatible mounting in the sizes 200×200, 400×200, 400×400 and 600×400. Not sure if that will suit your particular TV? Simply have a look at the back, are there four or more threaded holes that don’t seem to serve any useful purpose? These are the holes for wall mounting. To check if a bracket is suitable simply measure the distance between the horizontal and vertical holes which will give you the VESA size, for example 600mm horizontal and 400mm vertical would correspond to the 600×400 standard and would fit the PLB103M bracket. Unfortunately if the four holes are not present you will be restricted to the purchase of a TV stand instead of a wall mounted bracket.
One point worth noting with regard to this particular bracket is its overall size. Measuring in at 765x530mm, you might find that for smaller televisions within the range suited to use with this LCD wall bracket that it protrudes from the edges of your television. While not an unattractive unit, invisibility is still its strength so you might also wish to look at brackets suited to smaller televisions.
On the whole then, the PLB103M LCD wall bracket offers incredible value for money in providing a product that will support many television screens effectively and attractively. With a cost many times less than some other offerings that do a comparable job, purchasing this unit is something of a no brainer.
